Laura Prestwood, Associate Professor of Interior Design and Lighting, teaches courses in lighting design, color and light, commercial interior design, professional practice, and history of interior design and architecture. Prior to joining TCU, Ms. Prestwood taught in the interior design program at Winthrop University after ten years as an interior design practitioner. Her love of commercial interior design and lighting design lead her to a career as a design educator.

Laura’s passion is lighting design and lighting design education! She has given numerous lighting presentations at national and international conferences including Lightfair International. Most recently Laura was one of the leaders of the IESNA Teachers of Lighting Workshop at the Interior Design Educators Council International Conference.

Laura is a registered interior designer in the state of Texas and continues her professional development with involvement in professional organizations such as the International Association of Lighting Designers [IALD], the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America [IESNA], the Interior Design Educators Council [IDEC], and the National Council for Interior Design Qualification [NCIDQ].
